Barbara Ann Shoemaker Warner
Barbara Ann Shoemaker Warner, 82, of Richland Center, passed away at 6:59 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at her home.
Born in Argos, on Sept. 21, 1932, Barbara was the cherished daughter of Claude and Susie Kickert Shoemaker. Growing up, she shared her childhood with her sister, Bonnie and brother, Don. She graduated from Argos High School, a proud Dragon in 1950.
On June 10, 1950, at the Richland Center United Methodist Church, Barbara became the bride of her high school sweetheart, Keith Warner. Together they enjoyed over 65 years of life’s adventures. Their union produced two daughters, Kathleen and Angela and a son, Jeff. Over the years the family tree grew with the added blessings of six grandchildren and five great-grandsons.
With a taste for adventure, Barbara and her family enjoyed annual summer fishing expeditions to northern Wisconsin. They caravanned up motor coach, speed boat and truck to embrace the outdoor fun. More recently their destination was Ludington, Michigan. Camping out under the starlit summer nights while making smores over the campfire made special memories. Day light brought on more fishing and skiing over the glistening waters. Barbara and Keith enjoyed wintering in Ft. Myers in the comfort of their motor coach for a number of years. Walking the beach and collecting shells was a great way for Barbara to relax.
The matriarch of the Warner family, Grandma Barbara was proud to oversee four generations. She was delighted to host family celebrations and holiday gatherings. She cherished the time spent with the grands and the great-grands, always attending their sporting events, concerts and academic competition as their number one cheerleader! At home she enjoyed deer and bird watching. Hummingbirds were most intriguing. She always made sure all of the birds and deer were cared for with food and water.
Left to cherish Barbara’s memory are her loving husband: Keith Warner, Argos; two daughters: Kathleen Cunningham, Angela McClellan (Kevin); son: Jeff Warner (Jo Ann); six grandchildren: Ryan Cunningham; Monica Huffman (Travis); Tyler (Erica) McClellan; Ashley DuBois (T.J.); grandson: Adam Warner (Sasha), Fort Wayne; five great-grandsons: Camden Cunningham; Aaron and Ethan Huffman; and Warner and Wyson DuBois; sister: Claudette (Bruno) Canzian, Greenfield; brother: Don (Bonnie) Shoemaker, Elwood; and her devoted canine: Cody, a golden retriever.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester. The service will be at 2 p.m. directly after visitation, also at the funeral home.
