Fight Club Pink Begins Sept. 18

SYRACUSE — The next round of Fight Club Pink begins at 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18 at the Vineyard Church, Syracuse. The theme is, “change.” It focuses on both physical and spiritual fitness.
Linda Moore started Fight Club Pink in February, 2013. It is a faith-based program open to women of various Christian backgrounds or to women who may questioning faith for the first time. It is a 10-week program that focuses on the theme, “Changing Our Perspectives” on God, of oneself, relationships and faith with in-depth study into the fruits of the Spirit.
Fight Club Pink is the first of several Fight Club levels. The second level, green, is an 11-week program that focuses on the theme, “Changing Our Awareness.” It includes study of the names of God throughout Scripture.
The third level, black, is a 12-week program that focuses on the theme, “Changing Our Intensity.” Participants study the sixth chapter of Ephesians and learn how to stand firm in faith, how to be a woman of strength and gentleness in a difficult world and how to overcome conflict.
Participants must graduate from the pink level to participate in green, then graduate from green to participate in black. Each level gets more intense and more challenging. After finishing all three levels, a participant then enters the “masters level,” where they can lead others, take the Fight Club program to their church and participate in the masters curriculum.
Each round begins with an initiation and ends with a graduation. Once the pledge is taken, the round begins. Each week, challenges are assigned in four areas of focus: spiritual, emotional, physical and lifestyle. Moore posts on a private Fight Club Pink networking site which serves as the “connection portal”. There are no meetings to attend between initiation and graduation — all challenges, discussions and social connection and relationship building are done on the Fight Club site.
At the end of each week, each participant must post a written discussion of their thoughts and feelings toward a specific subject or challenge from the week. Then other participants must reply.
Fight Club Junior is also available. It is a four week program for girls ages 8 to 12 and is similar to the adult Fight Club. It will focus on self-esteem, personal values and integral living in an often non-integral culture, faith for life, etc.
