Panthers Prevail Over Plymouth
NAPPANEE – The NorthWood girls golf team opened dual match play by topping Plymouth Thursday at the McCormick Creek Golf Course.
The host Panthers shot 176 while the Pilgrims came in at 187 in the non-conference match.
Linnzie Richner and Mackenzie Weaver each shot a 41 on the par 36 front nine to lead NorthWood to the win.
Summer Stillson checked in with a 43 for the Panthers. Madison Richner added a 51 and Abby Slabaugh a 58 for coach Adam Yoder’s team.
Morgan Oberly paced Plymouth as she finished with a 41. Lauren Kolter shot 47 and Katie McDonald 48. Randi Dunn had a 51 and Katie Johnson a 54 for the Pilgrims.
There were no junior varsity team scores posted by either team. Hope Cripe shot a 60, Claire McGuire a 66 and Alaina Benjamin 67 for the NorthWood JV.
Nicole Horvath of Plymouth was the JV medalist with a 58.
NorthWood (1-0) and Plymouth will both compete in the Rochester Invitational on Saturday at the Round Barn Golf Course.
