Frances ‘Fran’ Shively
Frances “Fran” Shively, 94, Warsaw, died at 11:25 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
She was born April 18, 1921, in Warsaw, to Royal and Lucile (Valentine) Neff. She graduated from Claypool High School in 1939 and married Donald Shively on Feb. 14, 1944, in San Luis Obispo, Calif. She was a lifetime resident of the Claypool area.
Fran was a stay at home mom before becoming the librarian for Claypool Elementary for 18 years, she retired in 1987. She was a member of the Claypool United Methodist Church where she was the pianist and a member of the choir, a member of the Claypool United Methodist Women, Happy Homemakers Club, a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, and she loved to watch Warsaw High School Basketball.
She is survived by her husband: Donald Shively, Claypool; three sons: David (Sherry) Shively, Claypool; John (Peggy) Shively, Claypool; and Thomas (Gail) Shively, Claypool; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister: Martha (Don) Ault, Claypool; and her dog: Riley.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother: Dr. Robert Neff, on April 23, 2012.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Claypool United Methodist Church, and will be officiated by Pastor Michael Settles.
