River-Friendly Farmers Recognized
INDIANAPOLIS — Scott Anderson, Brent Drew, Philip Cripe and Mike Pile will be among the 48 Indiana farmers receiving the River-Friendly Farmer Awards Wednesday, Aug. 19. The award will be presented by The Indiana Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts.
Anderson and Drew are from Whitley County, Cripe is from North Manchester (Wabash County) and Pyle is from Silver Lake, (Kosciusko County).
The award, given to farmers whose farms are managed in a way that keeps rivers and streams clean, will be awarded from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The ceremony, which happens to coincide with Farmers’ Day, will be held on the second floor of the 4-H building.
Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann and Indiana Farm Bureau President Don Villwock will be presenting the award.
The award is sponsored by the IASWCD, the 92 local Soil and Water Conservation Districts and Indiana Farm Bureau, Inc.
