Man Charged With Domestic Battery
Henry Blake Ford, 27, was arrested Monday, Aug. 10, on charges of domestic battery with a child(ren) under 16 present, a level 6 felony, and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
Booking information show Ford’s address as 207 Pittsburg St., Syracuse, while court documents show an address of 229 E. CR 1150N, Milford.
A probable cause affidavit, filed by Syracuse Police, states on Wednesday, July 8, police met with Ford’s wife regarding her husband physically abusing her. Police could see a scratch on her jaw, a black and blue left eye and redness around her right eye.
The couple have been separated.
The woman told police on Tuesday, July 7, she was at her husband’s residence when he kicked her off a bed, causing her to hit her head on the corner of a table. He also allegedly grabbed her and slapped her numerous times. The two children of the couple were in the next room.
A second incident occurred the following day while they were having a discussion, also at his home. Ford reportedly became angry and struck her several times on the face with his hand, causing her to fall on the floor. He then kicked her in the side and choked her.
The children of the couple told police they heard their father and mother yelling at each other and heard banging on the walls.
Ford is being held on a $5,000 surety and cash bond.
A level 6 felony is the lowest level of felony in the state and carries a fixed term between six months to 2 1/2 years, the court may reduce the charge to a class A misdemeanor.
