Cobbs/Palacios Petition Denied By BZA
WARSAW — A petition listed as Cobbs/Palacios was denied by the Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals during its regular monthly meeting Tuesday, Aug. 11, in Warsaw. The petition asked for an exception to allow limited raising and sales of small dogs in a residential district on CR 825E, south of EMS W34A Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
Matt Sandy, assistant planning director for the county, noted the board felt this is not compatible with the surrounding area and there were also several remonstrators against the petition.
Other agenda items included:
• Joseph and Denise Davis’ petition to allow a portable shed to remain as placed and for construction of an open deck on EMS W22 Lane, east of EMS W23A Lane in Tippecanoe Township, was tabled until the Sept. 8 meeting at the petitioner’s request.
• Todd Mikel was granted a variance to allow a residence to remain as constructed, a detached garage to remain as constructed and also a generator to remain as placed on Eastshore Drive, north of Cornelius Road in Turkey Creek Township.
• Daniel Stuckman Jr. was granted an exception to allow outside commercial warehousing in a residential district on Koher Road, south of Koher Road East in Turkey Creek Township.
• Adam and Chelsey Moore were granted a variance to allow a residence to remain as constructed on EMS D8 Lane, south of EMS D7A Lane in Van Buren Township. They must obtain a building permit after the fact, though, and pay a $250 fee.
• Bernard Niezer was granted a variance to construct a small boathouse and also a new residence, and was also granted an exception to allow construction of the boathouse before the residence is built on Ogden Point Road, south of Seth Ward Road in Turkey Creek Township.
• John Jurney was granted a variance to permit the construction of a new residence with the same setbacks as an existing residence on EMS B3AL Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
