Jean Knisely
Jean Knisely, 91, of Syracuse, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at the IU Health Goshen Hospital.
She was born on Aug. 3, 1924, in Peru, to James and Elva (Miles) Connell. On Sept. 19, 1952, she married Orville Knisely who preceded her in 1972. She was a Syracuse resident since 1948 coming from Ft. Wayne. She retired from the accounting department at Liberty Homes after 26 years.
She was a longtime member of the St. Andrews United Methodist Church where she was a member of the church choir. She was also a member of the Syracuse Mothers Club.
She is survived by her two sons: Orville Lynn (Barbara) Knisely, Churubusco; and Richard James “Jamie” (Renee) Knisely, Pierceton; one daughter: Rebecca (Michael) Harris, New Paris; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister: Kate Connell.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, at the Eastlund Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the St. Andrews United Methodist Church, with Pastor Mike Neff officiating. Burial will follow at the Syracuse Cemetery.
