Milford Public Library news and events this week:
Closed for Inservice
The library will close early at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, for a staff in-service. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes. Be sure to come in before 3:30 p.m. to check out or renew materials. We will reopen at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12. If you need to return any books or magazines after hours, there are drop boxes located at the south entrance.
National Read a Romance Month
August Is National Read a Romance Month. The library offers a wide variety of romance novels that you can lose yourself in. Historical romance, romantic suspense and humorous romance are just some of the subgenres available. Browse our collection of books by Nicolas Sparks, Nora Roberts, Robyn Carr, Diana Palmer, E.L. James, Maya Banks, and Claire Delacroix. Some of our new romance novels are: “Silver Thaw” by Susan Andersen; “The Affair” by Maya Banks; “California Dreams“ by Nora Roberts; “Before We Kiss“ by Susan Mallery; “No Strings Attached” by Susan Andersen; and many more. Come check out the display of romance books in the adult department and enjoy some reading time.

Have you tried Freegal? Milford Public Library patrons can use their library card number and pin to download free music. You can download up to five free songs every week – that’s 260 free songs a year. There are thousands of songs, ranging from today’s hits, classical music, rock, country, oldies, and so much more. People Smart Privacy Education
The Library has many ongoing resources at your fingertips. One of the resources available on our website is called People Smart Privacy Education. This resource will tell you how to better protect your privacy in this technology driven world. It includes information about protecting your information from identity theft, protecting medical information, how to stop spammers from accessing your information, control your search and browsing history, and control what your social media profiles reveal.
