Kerry J. French
Kerry J. French, 60, of Fort Wayne, died at 2:17 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2015, at the Hospice Home.
He was born Sept. 30, 1954, in Columbia City, a son of Robert J. and Carolyn R. (Karns) French. He graduated from Whitko High School and continued his education at Lincoln Tech in Indianapolis.
A certified diesel technician, he was employed at North American Van Lines and Omnisource before working for Gerig’s Trucking and later Erie Haven for a combined service of 36 years, retiring June 2015.
Surviving relatives include two children: Ryan French, Avilla; Stephanie Mattern, Mishawaka; eight grandchildren; his mother: Carolyn French, Columbia City; and three siblings: Nonda E. (Chuck) Bolyard; Kevin J. French (his twin); and Melodee A. (Richard) Vicars, all of Fort Wayne.
His father preceded him in death.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Smith and Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. The burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.
