Ronald W. Rohrer
Ronald W. Rohrer, 60, a resident of rural Churubusco and well-known Churubusco businessman, passed away unexpectedly and was found on Monday morning, July 27, 2015, at his home in Smith Township.
Mr. Rohrer was born in Columbia City on Sept. 22, 1954, a son of Ralph and Louise (Hitzemann) Rohrer. He spent his formative years in Green Township and completed his education at Churubusco High School.
An auto mechanic all of his working career, he owned and operated Rohrer’s Automotive in Churubusco for most of his adult life. Ron always had a friendly manner, and will long be remembered as a “people person.” He had a natural green-thumb, and enjoyed gardening.
The surviving relatives include his two sisters: Marilyn (Lou) Rose, Churubusco; and Gloria LeBeau, Huntertown; four nephews: Khris (Jodi) Royer, Columbia City; Thomas Royer; and Scott (Tammy) Royer, both of Churubusco; and James LeBeau II, Huntertown; a niece: Angela (Josh) Culberson, Fort Wayne; and special friend: Brenda Goodrich, Churubusco.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Sheets amd Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with a close friend Pastor Brett Sauder, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 31, or one hour prior to the service Saturday morning.
Interment will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
