Prep Football Set To Start Aug. 3
The official start of the 2015 high school football season arrives Monday with the first day of practice for teams across the Hoosier State.
Teams can hold non-contact practices for the first three days before starting contact on Aug. 6.
The football scrimmages around the area are set for Friday, Aug. 14. Those will include Warsaw at Tippecanoe Valley, Mishawaka Marian at Wawasee, Garrett at Whitko and Triton at Manchester.
The 2015 season opens on Friday, Aug. 21. Games on the local docket have Columbia City at Warsaw, Griffith at Wawasee, Caston at Triton, Tippecanoe Valley at Culver Academies and Cambridge City Lincoln at Whitko.
Wawasee and Whitko each finished at 6-4 a year ago on the gridiron. Warsaw was 5-5 with Triton 3-8 and Tippecanoe Valley 1-9.
Both Triton and Tippecanoe Valley will feature new coaches this fall with Ron Brown in charge of the Trojans and Darin Holsopple taking over the Valley program.
Previews of area prep football teams will appear on IFN in the coming weeks prior to the season openers on Aug. 21.
