Linda Lou Grover Pence
Linda Lou Grover Pence, 76, Rochester, passed away at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Woodlawn Hospital.
Linda was born on July 1, 1939, in Rochester, the daughter of Thelma Ewen and Charles Knight. On Sept. 20, 2014, she married James Phillip Pence at the Hilltop Baptist Church, Rochester, and he survives.
Linda worked as a Bookkeeper for Bob Macy-Van Duyne, Rochester. She was a member of the Gilead Baptist Church at the Old Crossroad, Gilead, and loved singing Gospel music. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cross-stitching, and fishing, but most of all, she loved the time spent with her family.
Survivors include her husband: James, Rochester; children: Peggy Woodard, Albertville, Minn.; Penny (Gib) Archer, Terre Haute; Sharon Gaynon, Stilesville; Karen (Tom) Brown, Rochester; David (Wendy) Grover, Terre Haute; Sherry Reagan, Akron; stepchildren: Lanelle (Earl) Hollon; Roger Pence; Dawn Howell; Annette (Scott) Willis, all of Marion; 11 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren; brother: Charles Steven Knight, Kewanna; sister: Cindy (Carroll) PRice, Indian Mound, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Jerry Knight; and great-granddaughter: Kaylee Metz.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 31, at Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home, Rochester. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Calcutta Cemetery, Clay County. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gilead Church, Gilead.
