Evelyn Louise Wagner
Evelyn Louise Wagner of Warsaw, passed away at 5 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw at the age of 92.
She was a seamstress for many years at Danek in Warsaw and had attended Pierceton High School in Pierceton. Evelyn had worked many jobs throughout her life in retail stores and in factories. She was a cashier at Woodies Grocery Store, Thomas Discount Store, Danner’s Discount Store, and even worked as a Florist at Ace Hardware’s floral department…..she was a hard worker. Evelyn enjoyed bingo, reading and was a great supporter of Our Father’s House in Warsaw.
She was born on July 20, 1923, in Wabash County, to William Ward Sittler and Ruth Marie (Nute) Sittler. Evelyn was once married to Bob Stump and Gene Kain, and was re-married on March 13, 1964, to Mervin “Red” Elwood Wagner, who passed away on June 6, 1990.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters: Sandy (Robert) Denton, Warsaw; Roz (David) Morgan, Claypool; four sons: Willard (Susie) Wagner, Warsaw; Bob Stump Jr.; Amos Stump; and John Stump, all of Warsaw. Evelyn also leaves behind numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers; one sister; a granddaughter; and two sons: Mervin Michael Wagner; and William “Bill” Kain; and son-in-law: Frank Banghart Sr.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 31, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. Her funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the funeral home, officiated by Ken Locke. A graveside service will follow at Mentone Cemetery, Mentone.
