Colleen Haines
Colleen Haines, 85, of Leesburg, passed away on July 21, 2015, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was born on March 19, 1930, in Huntington, to Gerald and Mildred (Beaver) Diffendorfer. She was a 1947 graduate of Huntington HS. She worked for Prudential insurance for 11 years in the Huntington office. On June 10, 1956. she married Stacy Haines who preceded her in 2010. She was a homemaker and president of the Anthony-Wayne Elementary PTA in Fort Wayne.
She along with Stacy opened Stacy’s Restaurant in Leesburg in 1972 which is in its 43rd year of operation. She was a longtime member of the North Webster United Methodist church, and former member of the Altersgate United Methodist church in Fort Wayne. She was a member of the D.A.R. She loved spending time with family and friends and meeting new friends at Stacy’s.
She is survived by her two sons: Todd (Joyce) Haines, Fort Wayne; and Tyler Haines, Lessburg; five grandchildren: Reed Haines, Houston, Texas; Kathleen Haines, Fort Wayne; Hunter Haines, Leesburg; Madison Haines, Leesburg; and Ashley Haines-Spangle, Silver Lake; two great-grandchildren; one sister: Carolyn Yoder, huntington.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, July 27, at the Eastlund Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, at the North Webster United Methodist Church, with calling one hour prior from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Pastor Bryon Kaiser of the church will officiate. Burial will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington.
