Redevelopment Commission Briefly Meets
MILFORD — In a very brief gathering, Milford Redevelopment Commission met Monday morning, July 13. In what turned out to be the only new order of business, the commission approved its annual “no excess” assessed value letter.
In essence, the letter informs other taxing entities within the town limits Milford Redevelopment Commission will not have excess funds nor excess assessed value “that may be allocated to overlapping taxing units” for 2015 taxes payable in 2016. This letter is in accordance with Indiana statute requiring the commission to formally notify the other entities.
Taxing entities receiving the letter include the Kosciusko County Auditor, Wawasee Community Schools, Milford Public Library, Van Buren Township, Solid Waste Management District, Kosciusko County Council and the town of Milford.
The next meeting of the commission will be a special session at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, with the Troyer Group making its presentation regarding its plans and goals for their upcoming facilities and improvements study. The meeting with the commissioners, open to the public, is one of several the Troyer Group will be holding that day with various entities within Milford.
Later that day at 7 p.m., the Troyer Group also will hold a public meeting at town hall regarding its overall plans for the study.
The next regular meeting of the Milford Redevelopment Commission is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10.
