John William ‘Jack’ Jacobs
John William “Jack” Jacobs, 88, of North Webster passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at his home. He was born on May 8, 1927, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Walter R. and Bertha E. (Montgomery) Jacobs.
He attended Alexandria High School, Indiana University and was a United States Navy Veteran. On April 7, 1949 in Alexandria, he married Nina L. Cunningham who survives and retired in 1983 from General Motors in Anderson, as a crib attendant after 37 years. He moved to the North Webster area from Alexandria permanently in 1983 after spending summers in North Webster since 1967.
He was a member of North Webster Church of God; American Legion Post #253 in North Webster; & former member of the American Legion in Frankton.
He is survived by his wife: Nina Jacobs, North Webster; one daughter: Rhonda (Danny Anderson) Jacobs, Nashville; two sons: John C. (Diane) Jacobs, Alexandria; and Douglas W. (Peggy) Jacobs, Noblesville; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers: Richard; Walter; Charles; and James Jacobs.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 12, at Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 13, at Church of God, North Webster, with Todd Oesch of the church officiating. Cremation will follow at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County in Warsaw. Military graveside rites will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 18, in the Parkview Cemetery, Alexandria.
