Robert ‘Rob’ Dean Yantz Jr.
Robert “Rob” Dean Yantz Jr, of Warsaw, passed away unexpectedly while on vacation in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands on Sunday, June 28, 2015, at the age of 50.
He was a 1983 graduate of Perkins High School in Sandusky, Ohio. He received his B.A. from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio in 1987; and also his Master’s degree from Indiana Institute of Technology.
Rob had worked for DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc.of Warsaw for fifteen years, and most recently he had been working as the Controller for Paragon Medical in Pierceton, since 2007. He was a past board member of Combined Community Services, past board member of the 4-H Horse and Pony Club, and he attended Warsaw Community Church with his family.
He was very active in the community and especially in his children’s lives. He loved his daughter Kayla and would do anything for her. He enjoyed being a horse show Dad and making sure Kayla’s horses looked perfect for the show ring. He equally loved his son Michael, always there to encourage him while he played soccer and support him in everything he wanted to do. Rob will be lovingly remembered as a good friend, son, husband and caring father.
He was born on April 22, 1965, in Sandusky, Ohio to Robert Dean Yantz who survives in Sandusky, Ohio and his late mother Patricia Ann (Layton) Yantz. On Oct. 24, 1987 he was married to Michelle L. (Kohart) Yantz, who survives in Warsaw.
He also leaves behind his son: Michael Yantz, Warsaw; daughter: Kayla Lyne Yantz, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and his sister: Jennifer (Joe) Rose, Sandusky, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, July 6, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. His funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
