Four Malnourished Children Removed From Feces-Strewn Anderson Home
Twenty-nine month old twins from Anderson spent 10 days in Riley Hospital for Children earlier this month after suffering alleged neglect and severe malnutrition over the course of several months.
According to police, the twins and their six and seven year old sisters had been living in a 16 square foot area strewn with feces inside a home on West 13th Street in Anderson. In addition, the children had not been provided with adequate food and water.
A complainant who alerted authorities stated the twins’ arms were no bigger around than a quarter. They were taken from the home and hospitalized June 12. The older children were also removed and placed in foster care. The toddlers were released from the hospital in Indianapolis after 10 days and are now in foster care, as well.
Police arrested the children’s mother, Kim Robinson, 32, on June 23. Their father, Stephen E. Auker, 38, surrendered to authorities June 24.
Both parents face two counts of level 3 felony neglect of a dependent. They are in the Madison County Jail on a $20,000 cash bond each.
