Commissioners Honor Milford Student For Award Winning Essay
The Kosciusko County Commissioners met today for their bi-weekly meeting of the board. The short meeting featured the talent of a young, award-winning writer from Milford.
Ty Brooks, a third grade student from Milford Elementary School, recently won an essay competition held by the Association of Indiana Counties and Star Financial Bank. Brooks was named the winner for the AIC’s northeast district.
Brooks secured a $100 award for his school for winning the contest. Essays were judged on communication of a county’s role in building and maintaining infrastructure.
During the meeting, Brooks read his essay to the commissioners and was presented a framed copy of his essay as well as a commemorative book. Brooks is the son of Clayton and Mindi Brooks of Milford.
