Jean Davis Dorsey
Jean Davis Dorsey, 73, Warsaw, passed away at 3:10 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015, in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
On Aug. 22, 1941, she was born in Goshen, to Lester and Frances (Lantz) Davis. Jean was united in marriage to William Dorsey on Feb. 20, 1987 in Bloomington, who survives.
Living most of her life in Warsaw, Jean graduated from Warsaw High School in 1959 and then went to Parkview School of Nursing, where she graduated in 1962. She worked for Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw; Dr. Wymond Wilson’s office, Mentone, for several years, and then Kosciusko Community Hospital.
Jean enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, helping to raise them. She also enjoyed watching sports with her husband and her grandchildren’s activities. She also enjoyed traveling to Hilton Head, S.C. during the winter. Jean was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood and the Eastern Star. She was very active with the Hospital Auxiliary, Floral Design Group.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years: William Dorsey, Warsaw; two sons: Jay Allen Marsh, Washington D.C.; and Jeremy Adam Marsh, Warsaw; three grandchildren: Nicholas Alan Marsh; Blake Adam Marsh; and Emma Grace Marsh; three stepchildren: Debra Keiser, Granger; Christine Weiler, Lakeville; Jeff Dorsey, Nappanee; and three step-grandchildren: William Beehler Keiser; Korey Lynne Keiser; and Lucas Keiser. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and son: Jeffrey Aaron Marsh.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 2, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Jim Lawson officiating. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Memorial contributions may be made in Jean’s memory to American Heart Association, Midwest Affiliate, Chicago.
