Kosciusko County Community Fair Children’s Pageants This Weekend
The 2015 Kosciusko County Community Fair Children’s Pageants will be held this weekend at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds.
The pageant, which is themed “Christmas in July,” will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with the registration for the toddler, preschool and little divisions. The first pageant will begin at 6 p.m. with each registration held approximately a half hour apart. Participants are asked to meet at the Shrine Building. Casual attire is recommended for the event.
Age divisions include toddler miss and mister, 2 years old; miss and mister preschool, 3 to 4 years old; little miss and mister, 5 to 8 years old; junior miss and mister, 9 to 12 years old.
Please note, all children’s pageants will not be held during the fair. They will be ahead of time to give the winners more opportunities to participate in Kosciusko County Fair events.
Each pageant is expected to take approximately one hour. Each contestant must have the required forms filled out before the pageant begins. Every child will receive a number and be called up to the stage in numerical order. The emcee will ask each contestant questions baed off their application/registration forms.
The judges will score them based on natural beauty, the child’s ability to answer the questions and their personality. The contestant with the highest final score will be the winner. In the event of a tie or extremely close score, a second round will be made and conducted in the same manner as the first round. Parents will not be allowed to review the judges’ scorecards.
One female and one male winner will be selected in each division. Female winners will receive a crown, sash and flowers. Each male winner will receive a crown and a trophy. There will be two court members in each division (first runner-up and second runner-up). The female court will receive sashes, and the male court will receive crowns.
Winners and court members will receive a list of “duties” for the fair. These will be optional. However, they present a great opportunity to be involved in the fair. The most important event is the parade held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 12. Please remember that no child may be left alone while attending any fair related events.
