James Mark Thacker
James Mark Thacker, 72, of Tippecanoe, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at 11:05 a.m. in his home with his family.
He was born on Aug. 29, 1942, to Mark and Jane (Thompson) Thacker at Tippecanoe. He had been a lifelong resident of Tippecanoe. James was a graduate of Argos High School. He had worked as a Painter and worked at Ames Paint Store. He belonged to NRA and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and gardening. He was also known for making ice fishing lures and flies.
He married Marga Syler, Dec. 27, 1963; she passed away June 4, 1996.
He is survived by his two sons: Mark A. (Michelle) Thacker, Etna Green; and Patrick James (Mary) Thacker, Warsaw; five grandchildren: Allison; Nicole; Alex; Michael; and Mikaela; four great-grandchildren: Addy; Bensyn; Peyton; and Haley; along with three sisters: Mary Lou (Walter) Grohowski, Vero Beach, Fla.; Elizabeth Hanson, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Terri Jo (Doug) Williams, Carmel; and brother Marvin (Dinah) Thacker, Tippecanoe.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Marga.
You are invited from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, June 19, to celebrate James’s life with family and friends at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon.
Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Gail Law officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos.
