Charles W. Butler
Charles W. Butler, 93, Claypool, passed away at 9:58 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at his daughter’s residence.
He was born Nov. 23, 1921, in Clinton County, the son of Horace E. and Ruth “Fairy” (Harman) Butler.
On Nov. 23, 1942, in Kokomo, he married Mary E. Bruce, who preceded him in death June 13, 2011.
Charles was a crane operator for over 28 years for Continental Steel of Kokomo. He was a member of Mentone United Methodist Church and a life member of the Moose Lodge of North Manchester. He loved fishing.
Survivors are a daughter: Brenda and husband David Meredith, Akron; son: Bruce and wife Carolyn Butler, Sedalia; grandchildren: Lynn Hornyak, Charles and wife Amy Hornyak, George and wife Tina Butler, Tina Pallotte, Brandy and husband Jamie Owens, Wendy Meredith, and Kelly and husband Drew Krause; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters: Betty Timmons, Judy Brown, and Phyllis Smith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Butler; son, Dennis Butler; daughter-in-Law, Janet Butler; two brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 8, in King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with the Rev. Lynn Breeden officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
