Elkhart Jazz Fest Workshop Supports Development Of Young Talent
“Hoagy’s Workshop,” a two-day experience for youth involved in school jazz programs, will take place June 17-18 at Elkhart Central High School.
The educational program is managed by a committee of the Elkhart Jazz Festival, which strives to help young musicians become better, especially with solo and ensemble work. Elkhart County students may attend the workshop at no cost, thanks to a supporting grant from the Elkhart County Community Foundation. Tuition for out-of-county students is $75, but will include professional instruction from members of the 2015 EJF All-Stars:

- Howard Alden, guitar
- Frank Tate, bass
- Eddie Metz, drums
- Edye Evans-Hyde, vocals
A free concert by the all-stars at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 18, in the Central auditorium will conclude the workshop.
Along with the Elkhart County Community Foundation and DEI, Ludwig, Elkhart Community Schools and Martin’s Super Markets sponsor the workshop.
