Elkhart County 4-H Fair Accepting Competition Entries
Michiana residents are encouraged to participate in the Home and Family Arts Department at the Elkhart County 4‑H Fair. The departments to enter are: culinary arts, which includes baking, cake decorating and food preservation canning and miscellaneous; children’s corner; clothing construction; creative arts; handicrafts; needlework; photography; and quilts: individual and team or group. Special awards include Ball® & Kerr® Adult Food Preservation Award, the RED STAR® Yeast Award, an Apron contest and a themed category aligned with the Indiana State Fair Theme: Year of the Farmer.
If you are entering a minimum of five entries, you can pay a $30 entry fee to receive five daily fair passes. Paying the $30 entry fee allows you to enter up to 20 entries. You may enter more than 20 entries for an additional $1 per entry. Only one entry per class, though you may enter in multiple classes.
All entries, with the exception of culinary arts—baking and cake decorating, and special contests, must be brought to the Home and Family Arts Building on the fairgrounds between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday, July 20. Baking and cake decorating entries are due from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 23. Special contest entries are due the day of the contest. Your entry fee is your paid admission at the gate.
All exhibits must remain in the Home & Family Arts Building until exhibit pick-up on Monday, August 3 between 11 am and 6 pm.
