Warsaw, Wawasee Pepper Track Academic All-State
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches released its lists for the Academic All-State First Team and Honorable Mention for boys and girls track. The lists contained 16 total athletes from Warsaw Community High School and Wawasee High School.
The girls track Academic All-State First Team had Tennie Worrell and Audrey Rich of Warsaw and Maddie Birch of Wawasee make the list. Warsaw’s Natalie Nichols and the Wawasee duo of Courtney Linnemeier and Savannah Schwartz made Honorable Mention Academic All-State.
The boys track Academic All-State First Team had Warsaw land five on the list in Lucas Cone, Owen Glogovsky, Caleb Klusman, Daniel Messenger and Andrew Scheidt. Wawasee’s Dylan Elpusan also made the First Team. Warsaw had four more on the Honorable Mention Academic All-State list in Nathan Miller, Landan Perry, Ben Plummer and Caleb Ray.
Area girls track athletes on the Academic All-State First Team included Molly Green and Sydney Burdge of Columbia City; Erin O’Laughlin and Allison Vogeler of New Prairie; Frankie Spring of Penn; Keenan White, Mara Taylor, Mary Katherine Klaybor and Taylor Rock of South Bend St. Joseph’s; and Kathryn Lovell and Sierra Weaver of Westview.
On the girls Honorable Mention All-State list included Camille Clark and Alyssa Claymiller of East Noble; Ashlynn Smith of New Prairie; Sarah Hamilton of Penn; Dianne Waweru of South Bend Riley; Victoria Bush of South Bend Clay; Emily Anderson and Kaleigh Feldkamp of South Bend St. Joseph’s; Amanda Huntsman and Cara Groff of West Noble; and Julia Wright and Kylie Barker of Westview.
Area boys track athletes on the Academic All-State First Team included Nathan Munet of Elkhart Central; Spencer Roose of Fairfield; Hudson Kay of Goshen; David Walbring of New Prairie; Josh Mullens of North Judson; Evan Gunthrop of Prairie Heights; and Jake Mauch, Matt Morris, Peter Weigand and Norm Hezlep of South Bend St. Joseph’s.
On the boys Honorable Mention All-State list included Joseph Freeman of Central Noble; Nolan Miller of Fairfield; Nick Gerber and Brenn McKee of Goshen; Brian Eckert of North Judson; Benjamen Dowd of South Bend Riley; and Carter Brown of South Central Union Mills.
