Dakota James ‘Cody’ Nilson
Dakota James “Cody” Nilson, 17, of Fulton passed away at 11:23 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born on March 20, 1998, in Logansport, he was the son of Doug J.O. Nilson and Rebecca Minniear.
Cody had just finished his Junior year at Caston High School. He enjoyed playing video games, riding dirt bikes and playing hacky sack with his friends.
Survivors include his father: Doug (Kim Brown) Nilson, Fulton; mother: Rebecca (Camron Vawter) Minniear, Kewanna; grandparents: Richard and Lois Nilson, Twelve Mile; and Brenda Benedict, Logansport; brothers: Cole A. Nilson, Fulton; Cane J. Nilson, Fulton; and Clyde A.L. Wilson, Star City. Cody is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather: Terry “Jake” Benedict; and uncles: Tracy Nilson; and Terry Benedict, Jr.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, June 1, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Twelve Mile with Pastor Adam Speicher officiating.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, May 31, at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
