Sandra Kay (Cline) Phillips
Sandra Kay (Cline) Phillips, 78, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Camellia Gardens of Life Care Nursing Home in Thomasville, Ga.
She was born Sept. 15, 1963, in Culver, to the late Milton Roth and Mary Catherine (Tracy) Cline, and lived in Thomasville, Ga. for 38 years.
Ms. Phillips was a childhood member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Culver, and a 1954 graduate of Culver Community High School. In 1957, she graduated from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis, as a three-year diploma nurse. She retired in 1990, after 33 years of nursing in Jamaica, Indiana, Fla. and Ga. In Thomasville, she worked at John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital, as well as serving as Director of Nursing at both Hospitality Care Center and Glenn-Mor Nursing Home.
She was a member of Morningside United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She also enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, and historic preservation.
She is survived by a daughter: Rebecca (Phillips) Hancock, Thomasville; a son: David (Kristine) Phillips, Suwanee; and three grandchildren: Virginia Hancock, Titusville; Davis Hancock, Yulee, Fla.; and Mary Katherine Phillips, Suwanee; as well as several cousins. She was preceded in death by an older brothe: Stanley Milton Cline.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 24, at Morningside United Methodist Church, Thomasville, Ga. with Rev. Allen Hartsfield officiating. A graveside service and burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery, Culver, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, Culver, in Ms. Phillip’s name.
