Mary Alta Golightly
Mary Alta Golightly, 85, of North Webster, passed away at 8:20 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015. at her home.
She was born on May 3, 1930, in Redfield, Iowa, to Oran and Lula (Devilbliss) Clements.
She graduated in 1948 from DeSoto High School in DeSoto, Iowa, and was married on Sept. 26, 1953, in Des Moines to John Robert Golightly who preceded her on May 28, 1992.
She was a homemaker and retired from HyVee Grocery Store after 15 years of service. She was formerly employed at Bell Telephone in Des Moines, Iowa; Harvey’s Greenhouse in Adel, Iowa; and was a nurse’s assistant at a nursing home in Adel, Iowa. She moved to Indiana in 1996 from Desoto, Iowa.
She was a member of the Bread of Life Church in Goshen and formerly attended Faith Christian Fellowship in North Webster.
She is survived by: a daughter, Linda Neal of North Webster; three sons, Mark Robert Golightly of Perry, Iowa. John Thomas (Joy) Golightly of Richmond, Texas, and Timothy Wayne (Beverly) Golightly of Des Moines, Iowa; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Lula LaVonne, Nellie, Sarah, Ruth, Edith and Beverly; three brothers, James, Fred and Thomas Clements.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; daughter, Robin Golightly; son, Max Golightly; two grandsons; two sisters. Dorothy and Elsie; and brother, Oran Clements.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Carris Family Funeral Home, 1721 Park St., Perry, Iowa. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, DeSoto, Iowa.
Memorial bequests may be given to Bread of Life Church in Goshen. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
