Irish Baseball Team Gets NCAA Tourney Bid
SOUTH BEND – The Notre Dame baseball team received some great news Monday.
The Irish are headed to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2006.
Notre Dame is the No. 2 seed in the Champaign Regional and will open up NCAA Tournament play against Wright State on Friday at 1 p.m.
Illinois is the No. 1 seed in the regional and the host. The Illini will face No. 4 seed Ohio in the other game on Friday. The regional is a double-elimination tournament format with games continuing on Saturday and the regional final set for Sunday.
The Irish boast a 36-21 record, having finished third in the Atlantic Coast Conference during the regular season.
