Triton Tennis Ladies Roll Right Along
BREMEN – The Triton girls tennis team rolled right into the sectional finals.
The Trojans lost a grand total of just two games Thursday night in blanking Glenn 5-0 in a semifinal match of the Bremen Sectional at Sunnyside Park.
Triton, now 14-1 on the season, advances to face Plymouth Friday in the sectional title match at 4:30 p.m.
The Pilgrims, who had won 13 straight sectional titles until being dethroned by Bremen a year ago, beat the host Lions in the other semifinal match Thursday evening.
Once again, the Mason sisters played a huge part in another win by Triton, whose only loss this year was to Bremen.
Senior Kaelyn Mason posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles for coach Al Peckham’s talented team.
The duo of Kylie and Kolbie Mason, a senior and a freshman respectively, won by the same 6-0, 6-0 final at No. 1 doubles.
Quinn Downing also got into the whitewashing act as she prevailed 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
Shayla May posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles. The No. 2 doubles team of Hannah Wvnemacher and Emma Ross also won 6-0, 6-1.
