Milford Adds New Reserve Officer
Early Thursday morning, Samuel Fowler was sworn in as Milford’s newest reserve police officer by the town’s Clerk-Treasurer Joellen Free.
Fowler is a newlywed, having married his wife Erin earlier this month. Following the wedding, the couple moved to Winona Lake from Warsaw. He intends to eventually attend the Indiana Police Academy and hopes to become a full-time law enforcement officer.
Milford Town Marshal Rich Miotto said Fowler will take part in both basic police training and training specific to the Milford Police Department before his deployment into the field. Miotto is excited to add Fowler to the department, adding he is pleased Fowler’s wife is supportive of her husband’s new position. “It’s important that he has the support of his wife,” Miotto said. “You can’t do this job without it.”
Erin Fowler added, “I’m very proud of him and excited to see where God takes him.”
