Memorial Day 2015 Events
Here is a listing of Memorial Day events in and around Kosciusko County. We will add to this list as more events are scheduled. To have an event added to the list, please email [email protected] with the what, when, where and cost.
Warsaw
Oakwood Cemetery
- American Legion Post 49 Memorial Day Service – 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 25. Kosciusko County Chorus will open the service with a performance. Ken Locke will be the guest speaker. An outdoor picnic will be hosted at the Legion following the ceremony.
Winona Lake
Winona Lake Park
- Tracey Yeager Memorial 5K – Monday, May 25. Registration is from 7:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. Program starts at 9 a.m., and Race begins at 9:30 a.m. Late registration fee is $25 per person.
Etna Green
Etna Green Church of Christ and Etna Township Cemetery
- A community church service begins at 10:30 a.m., which will include recognition of military lives lost. A Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at the Etna Township Cemetery will follow.
Leesburg
Leesburg Town Hall
- Memorial Day Parade and Service – 10:15 a.m. Monday, May 25. Boy Scouts will start the parade with a flag raising, and the parade will proceed from the town hall south on Pearl Street and west on Prairie Street to the Leesburg Cemetery. In case of rain, the service will be held at the Lion’s building.
Mentone
The Circle, Mentone Cemetery
- Memorial Day Program – 2 p.m. Sunday, May 24. Honors deceased veterans from the area. Reception to be held at Bell Aircraft Museum following the program.
Milford
Milford Cemetery
The Memorial Day Parade will start at 10 a.m. Monday, may 25, lineup begins at 9 a.m. The parade will go down Emeline Street to Main Street and north to Syracuse Street. A service will follow at the cemetery.
North Webster
American Legion Post 253
- North Webster American Legion Post 253 will hold Memorial Day services and parade Monday, May 25. Legion members and the honor guard will be at Thorn Cemetery at 9 a.m.; Salem Cemetery at 9:30 a.m.; Mock Cemetery at 10 a.m.; and Post 253 at 10:30 a.m.
Downtown North Webster
- A parade will begin at the downtown stoplight at SR 13 and Washington Street at 10:45 a.m. and go north two and one-half blocks on Main Street to North Webster Cemetery. There at 11 a.m. a full ceremony will take place with the speaker being Don Roulo, chief encouragement officer for Life Quest Speakers.
Pierceton
Pierceton Community Center and American Legion Post 258
- Memorial Day Parade and Service – 11 a.m. Monday, May 25. Parade starts at 11 a.m. at Pierceton Community Building. American Legion Post 258 will host a carry-in dinner, and a Post Everlasting Ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. to honor military members.
Syracuse
Syracuse Cemetery
- Parade and Service – Parade begins at 1 p.m. Monday, May 25 and finishes at the Syracuse Cemetery. The American Legion will hold a Memorial Day service at the cemetery following the parade.
