Elkhart Jazz Festival Releases Full Schedule
With “the party of the summer” just a month away, Elkhart Jazz Festival goers can now view the complete performance schedule online at www.elkhartjazzfestival.com.
More than 30 performing groups will be featured on six stages and other venues throughout the 28th annual festival, which officially runs June 19-21 and is presented by Forest River. Headliners Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and David Sanborn will be joining fan favorites and fresh faces for the event.
Two free community concerts on Thursday, June 18, kick off the festival:
- 7:30 p.m. at the Lerner Theatre – Elkhart Municipal Band featuring the Dave Bennett Quartet
- 8 p.m. at Central High School – Elkhart Jazz Fest All-Stars performing with students to conclude “Hoagy’s Workshop,” a two-day educational camp for musicians.
Also, for patron pass holders, the Stephanie Trick Trio will perform at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, during a reception at Ruthmere, 302 E. Beardsley Ave. All venues will be active starting the afternoon of Friday, June 19, with the traditional opening ceremony on Civic Plaza at 5 p.m. The festival concludes with a free performance by the US Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 21, in The Lerner.
