Triton Sports Wrap – May 15
The Jimtown softball team stayed in contention for a conference title with a big league win Friday at Triton.
The Jimmies topped the host Trojans 12-5 in the Northern State Conference contest.
Jimtown improves to 14-6 overall and moves to 8-1 in the NSC.
Kaley Pletcher led the Jimmies with four hits. Katie Woods had three hits and five RBI and Mikayla Garner a home run for Jimtown.
Nicole Sechrist led Triton with three hits. Hannah Jennings and Lexee Lemler each had two for the Trojans.
Triton, which dropped a 14-0 NSC game at Class 2-A No. 5 Bremen Thursday night, drops to 15-9 overall and 6-5 in the NSC. The Lions are still undefeated in league play.
The Trojans, who were ranked No. 11 in the latest Class 1-A poll, were scheduled to host Plymouth Saturday.
Jimmies Top Trojans
The Jimtown baseball team allowed just one hit in besting Triton 6-1 Friday in Elkhart.
Nick Floyd had a home run and drove in three runs as the Jimmies won the Northern State Conference contest.
Jim town managed just two hits in the game, while Triton had one.
Jimtown improves to 7-2 in NSC play. The Trojans drop to 5-14 overall and 5-6 in the NSC.
Triton hosts Culver Monday night.
