Linda Sue Garber
Linda Sue Garber, 67, Huntington, went to live with Jesus at 11:10 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, to be reunited with her siblings, Earl and Jerry Garber, Wanda Mae Trout, and Carrie Laverne Montel.
She was born March 25, 1948, to Blaine F. and Effie (Amburg) Garber, both deceased, and worked at ARC Workshop Enterprises in Wabash for 22 years.
Linda lived her early years in rural North Manchester taking frequent trips to visit siblings in other states and other relatives. She briefly attended public school and then the School of Hope in Wabash. In the mid 1980’s she began working at Workshop Enterprises in Wabash and soon thereafter moved to Pathfinders Services, Market Street Group Home in Wabash where she resided for 22 years. When her health began to fail she became a resident of Miller’s Merry Manor, Wabash for several years. She then moved to Hickory Creek At Huntington, Huntington. Linda loved to color, collect catalogs and write her numbers in notebook after notebook. She wore out several Bibles by wetting her fingers and leafing through the pages pretending to read. She loved to go to a special summer camp and participated in Special Olympics. She prayed constantly and loved Jesus with all her heart.
She is survived by one brother-in-law: Larry Montel, Warsaw; and two sisters-in-law: Bickey Garber, North Manchester; and Dee Garber, Mesa, Ariz.; along with several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Wabash Church of the Brethren.
Friends and family may visit from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, May 18, and from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at McKee Mortuary, 1401 SR 114 W., North Manchester. The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Kay Gaier. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Servia, at which time Linda and her brother, Earl Garber’s cremains will be interred.
