Karen R. Shank
Karen R. Shank, 52, of Winamac passed away at 10:45 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Hickory Creek of Rochester.
Born Feb. 14, 1963, in Rochester, she was the daughter of Donald L. and Doris E. (Walls) Woolington. On April 22, 2006, she married James N. Shank Jr., he survives.
She was a 1981 Kewanna High School graduate.
Karen formerly worked at Ace Hardware in Winamac and she was also a homemaker.
Karen enjoyed cooking and was also an avid Colts and Nascar fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Sydney May and her beloved dog, Zeke.
She was a member of The Church of Christ in Rochester.
Survivors include her husband: Jim Shank Jr., Winamac; mother: Doris Woolington, Kewanna; children: Kayci Cunningham; Kewanna; Tracy Cunningham, Kewanna; grandaughter: Sydney May, Kewanna; brothers: Mark (Mona) Woolington; Michael (Deb) Woolington, both of Logansport; and Dan (Cathy) Hassenplug, Kewanna; father-in-law and mother-in-law: James and Carol Shank, Winamac; brother-in-law: Jerry Shank, Lafayette; and sister-in-law Kim (Terry) Kline, Winamac.
She is preceded in death by her father: Donald Woolington; and brother: David Hassenplug.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at the Church of Christ, Rochester, with Pastors Jim Dillinger and Doug Nolen officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, May 15, at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Kewanna Chapel, and also one hour before the time of the service, at the church.
