According to Inside INdiana Business, Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann will take part in special announcement regarding the Syracuse Technology Park this Thursday.
The park, located near the intersection of US 6 and SR 13 in Syracuse, was designated “Shovel Ready” late last year, which Ellspermann says, “certifies sites that are ready for economic development.”
The purpose of the “Shovel Ready” program is to make sites more attractive to companies and site-selection consultants. “Shovel Ready” sites are certified to be prepped and ready for economic development.
“Progress throughout Indiana depends on communities taking proactive steps to demonstrate they are ready and committed to cultivating economic development opportunities in their communities,” said Ellspermann in a 2014 press release. “I encourage new businesses looking to invest in Indiana to consider these locations that are primed and ready for partnerships and investments that will certainly contribute to furthering Indiana’s economic opportunities and growth in the near future.”
