State Fair Releases Free Stage Lineup
What’s better than a free concert? A free concert held at the 2015 Indiana State Fair during the Year of the Farmer presented by DOW AgroSciences. From the funky beats of Morris Day & The Time, to the anthem classics from the Village People and the great country hits from Craig Morgan; every fan will be singing aloud during the summer nights of the Indiana State Fair.
The “ideal duet partners” Indigo Girls will kick-off the shows on Aug. 7 and perform hits from 12 original studio albums. With music featured in Ice Age and Matilda, the age transcendent group, Rusted Root will join the final weekend line-up, and keeping with tradition the Wild Cherry Pepsi Gospel Music Day will send off the fair in style on Sunday, Aug. 23.

- Indigo Girls at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 7
- Morris Day & The Time at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 8
- Hispanic/Latino Music Festival presented by Honda featuring Los Caminantes de Humberto Navarro from noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 9
- Rodney Atkins presented by WFMS at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 10
- Happy Together Tour with The Turtles; The Association; Mark Lindsay; The Grass Roots; The Buckinghams and The Cowsills at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 12
- Creedence Clearwater Revisited at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 13
- Return of the Dukes: John Schneider and Tom Wopat at 7:30 p.m.; including photo ops with the General Lee from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. August 14
- Contemporary Christian Music Fest with Colton Dixon from 2–9 p.m. Aug. 16
- Village People at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 17
- Big & Rich and Royal Pin Leisure Centers at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 18
- Craig Morgan and Royal Pin Leisure Centers at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 19
- KC & the Sunshine Band at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 20
- “Nashville” stars Lennon and Maisy presented by RTV6 at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 21 and The Henningsens presented by Beck’s Hybrids to follow at approximately 8 p.m.
- Rusted Root at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 22
- Wild Cherry Pepsi Gospel Music Day with special guest LaShun Pace of the legendary Pace Sisters from 4-9 p.m. Aug. 23
All of these shows are free with paid admission to the State Fair. The Free Stage in the northwest corner of the Fairgrounds in the Dow AgroSciences Celebration Park, can accommodate approximately 5,000 fans. For more information, visit www.indianastatefair.com.
State fair general admission is $12; advance discount tickets are $8; kids 5 and younger are free. Advance discount tickets are available at www.indianastatefair.com presented by Mattress Firm and the Indiana Farmers Coliseum box office through Aug. 6. State fair parking is $5.
The Indiana State Fair Commission is a quasi-governmental agency that oversees year-round management of the fairgrounds. The commission operates as an eight member body that is governor appointed and hires an executive director to implement the policies of the commission. Established in 1892, the fairgrounds is a modern public event facility that annually hosts more than 300 meetings, shows, sports and agriculture events, including the Indiana State Fair. The Indiana State Fair was first held in 1852 and is the state’s largest multi-day event celebrating the Hoosier spirit and agricultural heritage. The fairgrounds is one of Indiana’s top tourist destinations annually attracting 2 million visitors to its 250-acre campus in Indianapolis’ Midtown district and adding $124 million to the local economy.
