Mommy-Son Adventure Success In 2015
The Warsaw Parks & Recreation Department held its annual Mommy-Son Adventure from 6-8 p.m. Friday May 1, 2015 at the Pete Thorn Center Gymnasium for 74 registered participants.
This year’s “Farm Adventure” theme was enjoyed by boys ages 3 to 10 and their moms, aunts, or grandmothers. Special activities included a drawing for a John Deere toy tractor donated by Greenmark Equipment, live animals from the Potawatomi Park Zoo and live animals from the FFA students from Warsaw Community High School, farm animal related crafts, a pig pen game, healthy snacks, a flower planting station, a photo station, and soil and farm crop sensory station.
Warsaw police officer, Justin, (Tug) Curtis surprised the parks department special event when he brought his 1953 John Deere 40-S classic farm tractor to Lucerne Park for the little boys to climb on and enjoy.
Next year’s Mommy-Son Adventure is planned for Friday May 6, 2016, at a cost of $15 per couple. The theme is “Root for the Home Team!”
