The Animal Welfare League Is Cookin’ Something Up
A new project to help raise funds for the new building our community is going to enjoy
is underway at the Animal Welfare League. The project is a twist on traditional cookbooks.
This cookbook called, appropriately enough, “Purrfectly Pawsitive Recipes,” and will include both human recipes as well as a section for vet approved animal recipes and treats for your pets.
Local Restaurants are also participating by providing recipes along with some coupons so you can taste the culinary delights in person at their establishment.
You are invited to share your recipe and see your own name in print as the author of the recipe. The cookbook will also feature a “Super Shortcut” section for those families where time seems to always be an issue in making wholesome, yet speedy and easy to produce meals.
It is easy to submit your recipe(s). There are several ways.
- Go to http://www.awlwarsaw.com and watch for the menu to pop up. Select “Learn More” on the recipe book page and you will be taken to a form that is easy to fill out.
- Mail your recipe to: AWL PO Box 1906. Warsaw, IN 46581
- Pick up forms and drop off in person at the Shelter located at 3489 E. 100 South.
“We are hoping for a tremendous response from our friends with your favorite family
recipes,” said Darla McCammon executive director of AWL. Michelle Becknell, Cookbook Committee Chairperson adds “This is a great opportunity to help yourself with a popular collection of recipes and help our homeless pets at the same time!”
Once a suitable collection of great recipes has been collected the high quality hardcover, spiral binding book will be printed. It is sure to be your first “reach” when searching for something good to cook.
The books will be sold at many familiar business outlets in Warsaw and will be offered at the shelter as well.
