Fishing Should Be Good On The Lakes
The temperature is rising as “lake season” has finally come back around. The 2015 summer promises to be another great one for anglers in the lakes area.
There are over 800 retailers statewide for fishermen to buy their 2015 fishing license and 27 locations in Kosciusko County alone. Licenses can also be purchased by mail, over the phone or online at IndianaOutdoor.IN.gov. Residential fishing licenses can be purchased for 17 dollars, non-residential for 35 dollars.
Indiana residents who are 64 years old and born after March 31, 1943 are eligible to buy a Senior Annual or Senior Fish for Life License.
Indiana residents can enjoy four free fishing days in 2015 without having to purchase a fishing license. Those dates include June 6 and 7.
Regulations for black bass this year has not changed as the minimum size remains at 14 inches in lakes and 12-15 inches in rivers and streams. The daily limit remains five singly.
For muskellunge the minimum size is set at 36 inches with a daily limit of one singly.
Koscisuko County has more than 20 public access sites on rivers and lakes, including those on property at Tri-County Fish and Wildlife Area in Syracuse.
