Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
4:23 a.m. Friday, May 1, South SR 19, north of West CR 900S, Akron. Driver: Ryan J. Smith, 36, West CR 1150S, Akron. Hit deer. Damage up to $5,000.
11:44 p.m. Thursday, April 30, North SR 15, south West CR 1000N, Milford. Driver: Tiffany L. Brown, 24, North CR 200W, Milford. Hit deer. Damage up to $5,000.
8:17 p.m. Thursday, April 30, North Biomet Drive, east of East CR 200N, Warsaw. Driver: Roger H. Rapsavage, 57, Chapman Lake Drive, Warsaw. Rapsavage swerved to miss deer and struck a NIPSCO pole. He was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Damage up to $10,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
1:17 p.m. Thursday, April 30, North Huntington Street, south of West High Street, Syracuse. Driver: Valina S. Caudell, 38, East Sunset Trail, North Webster, and Lonnie E. Bollinger, 51, West High Street, Syracuse. Caudell backed into the Bollinger vehicle. Damage under $750.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
7:22 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, Lake City Highway and North Parker St., Warsaw. Driver: Brittany N. Sherman, 19, Country Club Drive Warsaw, and Morris F. Culp, 53, Laraway Drive, Riverview, Fla. Sherman thought she had a green light and drove into the intersection in front of the Culp driven semitractor-trailer. Culp locked up the brakes on the semitractor to avoid the collision. Sherman’s vehicle struck the rear tires of the cab. The semi went down an embankment into a ditch. No injuries were reported at the scene but Sherman was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital later by her mother. Sherman was cited for driving while suspended. Damage estimated at over $100,000.
