Support Of WCS Building Initiative
Dear Editor,
I am writing in support of the Warsaw Community Schools building initiative.
First, to save money the initiative only deals with the buildings with the most critical needs.
Second, in Indiana, schools are not allowed to move money from one budget to another. They are not allowed to save for building projects. The only way to do large building projects is to borrow money. With recent changes to state law, the school system has to ask the voters to support the new project.
Third, a concern I have is that people will think this is because WCS needs more money to run our schools. This is not the case. WCS has balanced its budget. The bond issue is not for school operations, but solely for the building projects.
