A cold rainy day didn’t keep the crowd of approximately 1,450 Kosciusko REMC members attending the electric cooperative’s 76th Annual Meeting. The primary item on the agenda was the election of directors.
William Stump, Jr., Tony Fleming and Dan Tucker were re-elected for a three-year term.
KREMC board chairman, William Stump Jr. started the business meeting by giving special recognition to our county’s veterans.
KREMC president and CEO, Bruce Goslee talked through the co-ops new PrePaid program and 24/7 payment kiosk. He also showed photos of dangerous situations that could lead to power outages and asked members to call the co-op if they came across any.
Terry Bouse the board secretary and treasurer gave the 2014 financial report, highlighting that KREMC is ranked in the top 2.7 percent of co-ops nationally at managing local costs.
Members were entertained by Hannah and Tim Bushong of Syracuse. The children’s program featured a “Live Line Electric Safety Demonstration” from KREMC Linemen Mike Whitaker, a craft area, face painting and a dress like a linemen photo booth.
Kosciusko REMC is a Touchstone Energy electric cooperative serving over 17,000 members throughout Kosciusko County and into surrounding counties.
