Winona Lake Hosts Upcoming National Day Of Prayer Celebration
Winona Lake will celebrate the National Day of Prayer at 12 p.m. May 7, at Rodeheaver Auditorium.
The theme for this year’s event is “Lord, hear our prayer,” which is taken from 1 Kings 8:28. The passage states, “Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day.”
This year’s keynote speaker will be Christian Performing Artist’s Fellowship Executive Director Dr. Patrick Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh is the author of nine books and has lectured at many universities, churches, the White House, State Department and on talk shows on television and radio.
He also was the first American conductor invited to conduct an opera at Moscow’s Bolshoi Theater in 1993.
Prayer leaders will include: Dr. David Hoffert, education; Dan King, government; Pastor E.J. Underwood, government; Lane Anderson, ministry and missions; Greg Rauen, military; Jill Blackwood, business; and Melissa Montana, media.
Music will be provided by members of the Masterworks Festival. Jonathan Keener will be on the piano and Oscar Autoruo Osario will be soloist.
