Marilyn Zartman
Marilyn Diane Zartman, 80, of Nyona Lake, passed away at 2:22 a.m. Monday, April 27, at Community Howard Regional Hospital of Kokomo.
Marilyn was born on Jan. 23, 1935, in Kokomo, to Edward V. and Maxine A. Milner Brown. Growing up she shared her childhood with her brother Ed, near Fulton. With great Bulldog pride, Marilyn graduated with her class in 1952 from Fulton High School. Following high school, she pursued her dream of becoming a nurse, graduating from Holy Cross Central School of Nursing in Notre Dame. In 1955 she was awarded with her registered nursing degree. Her career in nursing spanned over four decades when we retired from the Veteran’s Medical Center, Marion, on Jan. 23, 1997.
Marilyn and Robert “Bob” Irvin Zartman were married on May 27, 1995, in Kokomo. Together they enjoyed nearly 20 years of life’s adventures.
Marilyn is lovingly remembered by her husband: Bob; her mother: Maxine Brown, Bunker Hill; a daughter: Beth (Chris) Campbell, Elwood; two sons: Bryan (Pamela) Barnett, Greentown; Brett (Tina) Barnett, Jacksonville, Fla.; a step-daughter: Samantha (David) Laird, Fulton; three grandsons: Braden; Jason; and Craig Barnett; three step grand-daughters: Lindsey Scott; Lauren Easley; Abigail Kerr, all of Mason, Ohio; a brother: Edward (Barbara) Brown; and her treasured canine companion: Molly, the Boston Terrier.
Preceding Marilyn in death are her father, a son: Brad Barnett in 1977; and two grandsons: Ryan and Joshua Campbell.
A celebration of the life of Marilyn will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, in the Good Family Funeral Home, located at 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester, with Chaplain Jason See officiating. Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to the service in ther funeral home. Interment will be in the Plainview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Cancer Fund through the Northern Indiana Community Foundation.
