Kenneth V. Emerick
Kenneth V. Emerick, age 99, of South Bend, died peacefully at 5:40 a.m. Friday, April 24, at Hospice House, South Bend, after a short illness. He was born May 8, 1915 in Warsaw to Oscar Ray and Dessie Alice (Linn) Emerick.
Mr. Emerick lived most of his life in South Bend. He was a graduate of Riley High School in South Bend. He was a WW II Army Veteran. On Nov. 11, 1945, he married Mary E. Teeter in Syracuse. She preceded in death April 19, 2000.
Mr. Emerick was a member of American Legion Post #284 in South Bend and the South Bend VFW. He was also a member of NRA. Mr. Emerick had worked in experimental Engineering at Bendix for over 30 years.
Surviving is his son: Kenneth Emerick, South Bend; and a granddaughter: Amber Marie Emerick, Phoenix, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Juanita Johnson; and brothers: Norman; Robert Oscar; and Donald Emerick.
Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Funeral services begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at the funeral home. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery, with military graveside services by Nappanee American Legion.
Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice House.
