Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
11:01 p.m. Thursday, April 23, Packerton Road, south of CR 800S, Claypool. Driver: Michael L. Conliff, 38, West Third Street, North Manchester. Hit racoon. Damage up to $1,000.
5:45 p.m. Thursday, April 23, East US 30 and South SR 13. Pierceton. Drivers: Robert M. Rosenbrook, 50, Echo Lane, Bluffton; Debra K. Iholtz, 47, East Pierceton Road, Pierceton; and Alison F. Butler, 22, West 13th Street, Rochester. Rosenbrook was eastbound on US 30, entered the intersection and struck the Iholtz vehicle. Iholtz vehicle was then pushed through the intersection, hitting the Butler vehicle, stopped on SR 13. Rosenbrook declined medical attention at the scene. Damage up to $50,000.
3:24 p.m. Thursday, April 23, West US 30 and North CR 800W, Atwood. Drivers: Jason S. Kratzchmar, 39, West Jackson Street, Mentone, and Eric L. Halterman, 37, Elizabeth Street, Rochester. Kratzchmar complained of pain to the neck and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. He was confused and disoriented. Kratzchmar was south on CR 800W, crossed the westbound lanes of US 30 but did not stop for traffic and was hit by Halterman’s vehicle. Halterman applied the breaks but could not avoid the collission. The breaking by Halterman and impact caused the “goose neck” on the trailer to break, shifting forward and breaking out the back window. Damage up to $25,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
1:40 p.m. Thursday, April 23, East Island Avenue, north of East Kings Drive, Syracuse. Drivers: Mark S. Larson, 59, East Island Avenue, Syracuse, and David M. Sloan, 56, South CR 350E, Warsaw. Larson was backing from his driveway and failed to see Sloan’s vehicle parked at a construction site next door. Damage up to $2,500
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:33 p.m. Friday, April 24, Walton Boulevard, Warsaw. Drivers: Jeanne C. Via, 65, Copeland Street, Warsaw, and Patrick S. O’Connell, Patrick S. O’Connell, 65, West CR 200S, Warsaw. Via was backing from a parking space and did not see the O’Connell Vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
12:46 p.m. Friday, April 24, West Center Street, east of North Lake Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Monica M. Crowe, 28, Oak Brook Place, Warsaw. Crowe was parallel parking in a parking spot in front of the old courthouse, and did not know she had struck a parked car registered to Ashley R. Busenburg, East Winona Ave., Warsaw. Damage up to $1,000.
9:17 p.m. Thursday, April 23, South Detroit Street and East Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Kellam M. Venosky, 22, Redspire Boulevard, Goshen, and Tyler J. Stoll, 28, West Jefferson St., Mentone. Venosky turned in front of the Stoll vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
